Our Treatment Methods
The Meaning of Meraki
Meraki is a Greek word for doing something with such devotion that you leave a part of your own essence in it. It speaks of total focus, attention, and care — the same qualities that turn a craft into mastery, and mastery into art. This is the spirit we bring to every consultation and every treatment.
The word is also a quiet bridge between two worlds. Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine, practised an art far closer to Traditional Chinese Medicine than to modern conventional care: he looked at the whole person, worked with diet and medicinal plants, and healed through patient, attentive observation. A Greek word, then, feels only fitting — a meeting point between the traditional wisdom of West and East.

Our approach
Who We Are
Meraki Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, in Praia da Luz, Algarve, offers a personalised, integrative approach to healthcare. We treat digestive health, stress, sleep disorders, hormonal balance, pain, sports injuries, and other acute and chronic conditions.
Every plan is tailored to the individual and may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tui Na massage, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, and Chinese dietary therapy. Our goal is to restore balance, address the root cause of symptoms, and support lasting health.
How we treat at Meraki
Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, our approach treats the body as an interconnected whole rather than focusing on symptoms alone. Every treatment is tailored to the individual through pattern diagnosis and may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tui Na massage, cupping, moxibustion, Gua Sha, and Chinese dietary therapy.
We help with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions — pain, digestive disorders, stress, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and hormonal imbalances — restoring balance and promoting lasting health.
